Title：Introduction to real number theory

Abstract：We in this new semester mainly talk about Prof. Yu Pin's lecture notes on mathematical analysis. In this opening session, we are going to discuss the foundational concepts of real number theory, which form the basis of rigorous analysis. We begin by examining the axiomatic structure of the real numbers, including the field axiom, the order axiom, and the completeness axiom. These properties distinguish the real number system from other number systems, such as the rational numbers, and provide the theoretical framework necessary for limits, continuity, and further analytical concepts.
